Blowing Rock: Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, with outstanding shops, restaurants and the well known "Art in the Park" held monthly from May to October.

There is constant activity in all the small towns each summer from quilt making to making apple butter in the fall. Local arts and crafts are everywhere. Live theater in both Blowing Rock and Banner Elk featuring local and off Broadway talent. There is no time for boredom in these beautiful mountains.
